Designed a complete capsule collection for this high end British brand.
From block and pattern implementation, factory and supplier sourcing to styling and shoot. I was fully involved in all aspects of this debut collection.
The collection explores my love of British and Japanese cloths in timeless quality garments with fastidious attention to detail.
Through 13 years with the firm I played a key role in building the company from an organisation of 20 employees to one of 200 plus with an extensive online offering, shops around the UK and concessions in some of the world’s leading department stores, including Selfridges and Harvey Nichols.
Entering the firm as a design assistant to the founder of Toast, Jamie Seaton, I progressed through to senior designer during my time at the company. My roles included designing collections for store and e commerce from moodboard to photo shoot. I worked on all aspects from overseeing the technical implementation of the designs, to working on the styling of photo shoots. Travel was integral to the job and along with regular comp shopping and inspiration trips, I attended relevant trade shows as well as meeting suppliers in Turkey, Hong Kong and India annually. As Senior Designer I managed a team of people creating the clothes that were the heart of Toast.
This unique lifestyle brand has a successful, retail, internet and mail order business. Synonymous with its beautifully shot catalogues, it offers womenswear, menswear and a home collection with an artisan feel.
